SaulPaul celebrated National Be the Change Day this month. While it was honored nationally, locally the Mayor of the City of Austin, Kirk Watson, honored SaulPaul and recognized the day with an official proclamation. While the city recognized SaulPaul’s leadership and the collective efforts of the Be he Change Challenge of campuses and communities across the country, SaulPaul found it fitting to not only use it as a day to challenge others to give back but to also celebrate the schools, individuals and organizations who joined in throughout the year to give back, be kind and/or Be the Change. More than two dozen schools participated in the challenge in their own communities with more than 1000 acts of kindness.
The ceremony and celebration took place in Republic Square Park in Downtown Austin. Along with schools across the country celebrating National Be The Change Day, schools like Oak Springs Elementary, Joe Lee Johnson and Popham Elementary led the way in making a difference by creating positive change in the local Central Texas community. The festivities kicked off with a party in the park which included live music by SaulPaul, fun activities sponsored by the SaulPaul Foundation and SaulPaul’s Change Water in addition to crafts led by Love Rocks Hoovers Heal. Attendees were treated to live music as well as tunes by DJ Abe the Ambassador, and Good Day Austin Anchor, Casey Claiborne on FOX 7. Special VIP guests also attended the events, including business owners, community leaders and local government officials.
