The ADL (Anti-Defamation League) Chapter in Austin recently held a Concert Against Hate and joined the national network to highlight the work of activists  across the country. With a lot of change happening in 2020, the concert shared DL’s mission of fighting hatred in all forms.

SaulPaul was honored to be invited as the the featured performer to kick off the evening concert. He performed as special rendition of his song “Be the Change” with his guitar and loop pedal which he dedicated to all the people working within ADL and their allies. Part of the performance included creating a moment when everyone moved to SaulPaul’s lyrics as he sang, “put your hands in the sky, wave ’em side to side” and connected the online community.

The show highlighted local Austin hero Harvey Burg with the Lifetime Achievement Award for the work he had done against anti-Semitism. As the night transitioned to Emmy-award winning actress Debra Messing who hosted the evening along with additional musical performances by Adam Levine of Maroon 5, Kenny Loggins, Andra Day, Bebe Neuwirth, Aloe Blacc, Ifetayo Ali-Landing, Jason Isbell, George Takei, Bob Costas, Rafe Pearlman and Olivia Boisson.
